[VIDEO] One thing I do recall he never mentioned is that he left out that J.D. Vance is the first millennial to be elected to the Vice Presidency. For the record I consider myself a xillennial my birthdate straddles the line between millennial and Gen. X.
I'm sure there are other things I don't recall but if you have some time you have about two hours to watch this live stream from President's Day 2025. Perhaps there are some things not mentioned here that didn't get mentioned as far as the 2024 race.
Mr. Beat's official 2024 election video. That race proved to be such a wild race. Who knew that President Donald Trump would make his return to the Oval Office after what happened in the aftermath of the 2020 Presidential race?
One thing that caught my eye in this video is a return to the spoils system. Basically insuring that those within the government are loyalists to your administration. What has been discussed within the populist right has been how the professional bureaucrats of the federal gov't helped undermind administrations they don't like.
America has already had a spoils system and at some point in the past our gov't were often staffed by a permanent bureacracy. And another argument made is that these bureacrats make some decisions over our lives and they're not elected.
With discussions of buyouts and more recently outright firings and even head of "D.O.G.E." Elon Musk declaring in a tweet that the Dept. of Education no longer exists. I'd say as they attempt to make gov't more efficient it seems more and more likely what Trump's priority is, perhaps he doesn't want a professional bureacracy. Perhaps more Presidents should staff the executive branch the way they see fit.
Now I'm sorry for not paying attention to what Trump was talking about during the campaign. And the fact that someone was attempting to kill him during that campaign. It helped to tip the odds in his favor. The use of weaponized "lawfare" was terrible and probably showed that someone was veyr concerned about him. Everything they tried to do seemed designed to keep him from running for President again and they may know full well after 2020 he had unfinished business. I wonder if they had just left him alone would he have just gone away on his own.
Meanwhile you had a President who was showing he couldn't handle the rigors of the job and while it's noted that his Vice President and her running mate breathed new life into the Democratic Party, it became clear to me that the Harris/Walz ticket was going to have their clock cleaned. Yeah Trump didn't perform well in his debate against Kamala Harris, however, it became clear that she wasn't the one either.
I'm curious what many of you think of the 47th President so far?
This shows how in tune I am with the political scene right now.
This time four years ago, outgoing President Donald Trump held a rally where he asked his supporters to go to the U.S. Capitol to protest the count of those electoral votes in a joint session of the U.S. Congress. Which quickly became an "insurrection". It was a very scary day and I just couldn't believe that our democracy, our republic seemed to be underseige by "mob violence".
It seemed one side had to defend themselves and the other side played offense trying to paint the insurrectionists as anti-democracy or traitors. January 6 for some became a day of great rememberance. However, seemingly this day was also forgotten by a number of Americans.
Furthermore the man who won the Presidential Election for 2024 was not supposed to be in that race. There were court cases, even an impeachment trial commenced even before he left office. And guess what on this day, in 2024 he's the one who's vote are being certified in front of Congress.
If the so-called insurrection was used to try to keep him out of the White House, it helped to bring him right back in. I'm sure someone out there is protesting this. I see the incumbent President who beat him in 2020 isn't exactly organizing a rally to fight this. And the woman, the 2024 winner vanquished has to preside over the count to certify the 2024 electoral votes.
Barring any news reports of any "trouble" this should go relatively smooth. Though since President-elect Donald Trump is definitely a very polarizing figure there probably will be some protests from some members of Congress trying to object..
And just think with the "insurrection" of 2020, whatever objections to that race between President Trump and then President-elect Joe Biden fell apart once the U.S. Capitol was secured.

The YouTube channel Resyndicated (the voice over artist sounds a lot like former Republican nominee for Governor Darren Bailey) did a recent video discussing the historical notes of Grover Cleveland & Donald Trump. They were the only two men who were elected to two non-consecutive Presidents in American history.
Donald Trump achieved that feat earlier this month after defeating Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 Presidential race. Trump had earlier served from 2017 to 2021 and will become the 47th President in 2025.
For Grover Cleveland he served one term from 1885 to 1889. However, after losing the 1892 race he again one the race against the man who defeated him in 1892 - Benjamin Harrison - and won another term from 1893 to 1897.
Of course there were other candidates who not only sought their party's nomination for President multiple times although they weren't successful in their bids for the Presidency. However, there were other Presidents who had sought non-consecutive terms from Martin Van Buren, Millard Fillmore, to Theodore Roosevelt. The most likely man to have been able to won another term as President was Roosevelt who ran again in 1912 though the winner of that election was ultimately Woodrow Wilson.

[VIDEO] To be honest there were some aspects of this story I wish was handled differently. They had to mention that President Trump is a convicted felon. Then they mentioned those people who were an election denier (2020 race).
What is accurate is that the Democrats misread the electorate. That although Trump has his flaws (yeah being a felon isn't necessarily a flaw, there are much more real flaws than that), a lot of people chose him over Vice President Kamala Harris. No one uses the term "kitchen table" issues, but that term would be the key one to use here.
The cost of housing, groceries, and let's not forget about gas. Those were issues that people were following throughout these last four years of the Biden presidency. And also as a consideration people might remember Trump's presidency at least before the pandemic in 2020.
It's amazing that this was a landslide. Trump's victory in 2016 he lost in the popular vote but he was able to get a majority of electoral votes to secure the presidency. This year he won in both the popular vote and electoral votes. He was able to sweep such battleground states as North Carolina, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan, Nevada, and most recently Arizona.
Wisconsin and Pennsylvania certainly helped Trump secure the presidency for the second time.
One last takeway, there was no enthusiasm for the Vice President who sought to become America's first woman president. She had a lot of flaw and the more voters knew about her, I'm sure those flaws turned them off.
As I've learned about voter turnout. Let's say a particular base isn't that enthused by a candidate they're most likely to vote for they won't vote. They may just stay home instead. As with 2016 there was more enthusiasm for President Trump.
[VIDEO] The term October surprise originated during the 1980 Presidential race between Pres. Jimmy Carter and future President Ronald Reagan. Basically the surprise would be beneficial to Pres. Carter especially if it involved the release of the hostages in Iran which didn't happen after Carter was out of office. The Iranian hostage crisis was the story of that day.
Basically October surprises as Mr. Beat explains seems to be aimed to be beneficial to a candidate or often very negative towards another candidate. And we learn October surprises have a long history in American politics even if it wasn't always known as such.
The original term for October surprises before 1980 and certainly during the 19th Century - the first "October surprise" was during the 1840 Presidential Race between Pres. Martin Van Buren and future President William Henry Harrison..
After the election of 1844, October Surprises were known as "roorbacking". Based on a book that implied that future Pres. James K. Polk had branded his slaves which was proven false and force a newspaper that published the story to apologize. The book "Roorback's Tour Through the Southern and Western States in the year 1836".
A current example of an October surprise in the 2024 race might be allegations of former Pres. Donald Trump's alleged affinity for Adolph Hitler and the Nazi party. That's been going around during the last few weeks of October. Also the comments of a comedian at a Trump rally making a distasteful joke about the American territory of Puerto Rico. It remains to be seen if that will make an impact in next week's Presidential election.
[VIDEO] Another look at the Presidential running mates for 2024 U.S. Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) running with former Pres. Donald Trump vs. Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN) running with Vice President Kamala Harris. This documentary looks at the evolution of both men.
It was reported when Sen. Vance became Trump's pick how he used to be very opposed to President Trump and then later he came around. And it was enough for him to be the VP running mate.
And then Walz as a school teacher and then later a congressman and Governor of Minnesota.
Is there anything you got from the story of both men?
[VIDEO] Door County, Wisconsin right at the top of the eastern peninsula of the state. This county could "decide" the the next P.O.T.U.S. And Wisconsin is a battleground state.
In the 2016 election Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania made the difference and handed the 46th P.O.T.U.S. Donald Trump the White House. Those states proved pivotal for Joe Biden in 2020 where he was elected the 47th P.O.T.U.S. and he effectively flipped those states back to blue. Oh yeah let's not forget nominally these are often blue states. Perhaps Wisconsin and Pennsylvania are more purple than blue.
And also add that 2016 and 2020 the results in those elections for President were very close. Narrow margins and in 2020 certainly in Detroit, MI or Philadelphia, PA there were allegations of "voter fraud".
Regardless, whether you vote early or wait for election day next month vote. Make sure it counts, the race shouldn't just be "decided" by one county in the whole nation!
[VIDEO] Prof. Allan Lichtman uses trends and history to predict how any given election will go. He has gotten some attention in the past month predicting possibly a Vice President Kamala Harris victory in November.
Prof. Licthman uses thirteen keys which was looked over in terms of the coming presidential election by Tim Pool with his guests on the IRL podcast. Stole this from Wikipedia although how it's looked at in the podcast it's not necessarily in the same exact order.
I've left most of those false and would prefer to let Lichtman explain why his keys describe a VP Harris election victory.
If six or more of these 13 keys are false the incumbent party loses. In 2024, the incumbent party in the White House are the Democrats. However, President Joe Biden chose to drop out of the race weeks before the DNC convention in Chicago. Vice President Kamala Harris took Biden's place at the top of the ballot, however, there was no primary challenge and there were no issues at the Democratic convention in August. Also it sort of helps that VP Harris isn't the incumbent President, however, she serves under current President Biden.
Everything else I won't comment on, however, Lichtman has set his keys to at least to four which for him predicts a Democrat win in 2024. However, as you see by my own statement so some select keys I have my doubts.
Yes Trump is divisive so I can understand why charisma could be an issue there. Kamala as the "incumbent", however, is lacking the charisma department herself.
Let's not forget and even Lichtman might emphasize, who wins in this election isn't up to his keys. It's up to you as the voter so don't take these predictions for granted. Cast your ballot for the candidate of your choice!
[VIDEO] So far there will only be two debates between these two Presidential candidates - Kamala Harris and Donald Trump.
Back in June, former President Donald Trump debated current President Joe Biden and it was such a disaster that people were calling for President Biden to drop out of the race which he did before the DNC Convention in Chicago. Republicans already were contending since he became President in 2021 that he was not mentally capable of being president and for many even some Democrats he showed how much he slowed down in the June debate.
His Vice President Kamala Harris replaced him as the Democrat's nominee for President. She accepted her party's nomination for President in Chicago at the convention. And she took Pres. Biden's place in the debate which was held and broadcast on ABC in early September.
Some takeaways, even though it has been a whole month.
What dominated the headlines on FOX News and perhaps more conservative outlets was that there was a Haitian migrant problem in Springfield, Ohio. There were reports of migrants eating wild animals and also preying upon people's pets.
For Trump, immigration is an issue he has campaigned on. We all have something to say about the migrants that have been transported from the southern border to mostly "sanctuary" cities & states. However, in my head this who issue of migrants eating pets shouldn't have been brought up in this debate as even police in Springfield have dismissed the allegations that these migrants were eating pets.
Also the Vice President isn't exactly known for her policy chops. She doesn't answer questions and she hardly does press conferences and the interviews she has done weren't exactly slam dunks either. She may have outperformed Trump in this debate, however, I'm not sure if that's saying much.
We know what Trump brings to the table in these debates and I would dare say VP Harris brings things to these debates also. Harris was likely to use the woman and race card in these debates and unfortunately there are those who will respond to that.
We're closer to election day now than we were in September and its likely there will be no other debates before November. When this debate was over Harris publicly declared she was ready for another one and Trump put the brakes on any future debates.
I'm sure Trump knows he didn't perform well and Harris found out what she could do to make him respond. Regardless, how beneficial are these debates when in such a polarized nation performance by either side isn't going to move the needle significantly in either direction?
[VIDEO] CBS News had broadcast this debate (and aired on all the major news networks) between US Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) and Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN).
Unlike the debate last month between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris I will show this one today. That debate will come later.
This wasn't a particularly exciting debate, but I didn't detect any attacks or even any baits between these two candidates. There were some common ground seen between these two men, especially when on some issues there were a stark divide.
Both men by my eyes came off very well. I'm not so sure about Gov. Walz but then again I have no real issues with Sen. Vance. I'm glad to see Vance would be supportive of Walz if he gets elected. Hopefully Walz would do they same.
What was noted by some pundits and by my eyes Walz seemed very nervous. I would day say for me Walz at times seemed to have the "deer in headlights" look. Some will say he didn't belong on that stage, and well who am I to judge as I'm not up there. And nor is anyone else saying that although many of them are on TV and I'm not.
What I would say is that both VP Harris and Gov. Walz come from states that are most favorable to them as far as electoral process. Especially the Vice President. I don't know what the margin of victory for Walz in his elections for the Governor of Minnesota, however, that state is considered a solid blue state so who knows being on that national stage for a debate might be new territory for him.
I didn't see this debate from the beginning, missed out on the main event for NXT on The CW network (not a major network). So there were some portions of the debate that was missed but I'm glad I saw it.
[VIDEO] Well the 2024 Democrat Nat'l Convention in Chicago is a wrap and Vice President Kamala Harris made her acceptance speech on Thursday night.
It wasn't a bad speech, there were two things I could hit her on which is the border especially. She was the border tsar and she was famously interviewed by NBC News anchor Lester Holt as far as whether or not she went to the border. When she's caught off guard or forced to answer a question she doesn't want to answer she's so awkward.
Either way it wasn't a bad speech. Having seen enough of this convention we see what the Democrats represents. There were some vignettes from those four nights which well it was just strange.
The themes are women's rights, love who you want to love, reproductive rights (and not so much abortion, they talked a lot about in-vitro fertilization), of course they hit on racial issues. Oprah Winfrey on the final night of the convention talked about integrating schools and mentioned one brave child - who passed away as a grandmother recently - who had to endure the possibility of a sniper.
I mean who'd have thought in order to integrate a public school in the south someone would be willing to shoot a child. It just shows how far we've come as a nation though we still have some work to do it seems.
Anyway, I'm a long way from prognosticating the 2024 Presidential Race. The Vice President isn't a great candidate and we could argue Democratic delegates...no Democratic voters didn't really get a chance to vote for her. Most of them voted for the incumbent President who dropped out of the race just last month.
And I look forward to whatever debates the Vice President will have with the 45th President. Certainly it would be great to see her running mate MN Gov. Tim Walz debate OH U.S. Sen. J.D. Vance debate each other as well.
[VIDEO] The Governor of Minnesota Tim Walz speech last night at the Democrat Nat'l Convention in Chicago. He accepts his party's nomination for Vice President and running mate to the presumptive Democrat nominee and sitting Vice President Kamala Harris.
Tonight Kamala Harris will accept the Democrat nomination for President of the United States.
Haven't really had the time to watch the DNC this week. Got a lot going on at home right now.
I did at least see Doug Emhoff, Michelle Obama and former Pres. Barack Obama speak last night. Will share at a later time.
I also understand that IL Gov. J.B. Pritzker spoke last night at the DNC will also share that.
On Monday Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson spoke to the DNC. And also so did outgoing President Joe Biden who dropped out of the 2024 race just last month.
Of course all of our local politicians - especially the high profile ones - will be speaking at a nat'l political convention. From Governor on down. However, expect me to share remarks by the Vice President's running mate MN Gov. Tim Walz and of course Vice Pres. Kamala Harris.
How these usually go Walz will likely speak tonight and then the Vice President will speak on Thursday night , the last evening of the convention.
Thankfully there weren't a lot of problems outside of the convention. I see police were shown in riot gear and of course arrests were made because well some people don't mind pushing the limits. People were expecting Chicago to be out of control and I'm not seeing that yet.
Then again admittedly I'm not following a lot of coverage on whatever protests are going on. Let's hope things don't go to out of control. However, I'm encouraged that Chicago Police will step in before things go too crazy.

Gov. Walz is from a blue state and certainly might share some of the same ideals as Harris (that is if she has an real ideas or ideology or core values). More than likely she'll win Minnesota so I'm not sure what real benefit Walz pick would be.
In general people will still vote for who they want as President more so than who they want as Vice President. And just as we have to get to know Sen. Vance (whom Democrats have started calling "weird"), we'll have to get to know Gov. Walz.
I may point out that the unrest and anxiety of 2020 is in the rearview mirror I wonder if in any future Vice Presidential debates that questions might be asked about his response to the riots in Minneapolis in the wake of George Floyd's death while being arrested by police. We shall see...
My .02¢ on this is VP Harris' choice won't likely be Gov. Pritzker although he would be more in line with a certain segment of the Democratic Party. Her best bet is a more moderate choice. Time will tell, it's interesting they (or perhaps even Republicans) have a process to vet potential running mates.
The rumors were ongoing with this. Some earlier reports had Joe Biden dropping out of the 2024 race on Sunday (yesterday). However, it seemed as if the President was going to stay in this thing.
[VIDEO] The Republican Nat'l Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin wrapped with Trump's Thursday nite speech accepting his party's nomination for the presidency.
Having watched this speech he mentioned the assassination attempt in Butler Township, Pennsylvania in addition to his many accomplishments as President including securing the border. He made hardly any mention of the incumbent President other than some of his opponents failures in office.
This is a pretty long acceptance speech which was about an hour and one-half. Any thoughts on Trump's Thursday nite speech?

The GOP Nat'l Convention is this week in Milwaukee, WI and we got the excitement of former President Trump - oh and remember he had just narrowly survived an assassination attempt on Saturday - making his pick for a VP running mate. His pick is freshman Republican US Sen. J.D. Vance of Ohio who has been in his seat since 2023.
I know he made the rounds on FOX News and remember him making a number of appearances on the program of one Tucker Carlson before he had been released from that network. There are some dredging up his "anti-Trump" rhetoric from the past. However, he has often been painted as a "populist" sort of like Trump himself. Especially the 2016 campaign was viewed as a populist campaign.
Some other interesting facts about Vance. He's currently only 39 years old born in 1984. He also currently sports a beard. The last president to have any facial hair - beard or mustache at least - was William Howard Taft. Although I can't say the last V.P. to have any facial hair, have to do some research on this.
Thus as you see Mr. Beat above in a live stream point this out, he's the first "millennial" V.P. candidate. And time will tell how the public will further view Sen. Vance once he hits the campaign trail.
[VIDEO] The new year is 2024 and what's the significance? It's yet time for another Presidential Election. And soon it will be time for one of the earliest presidential primaries, the Iowa Caucuses.
And so far the last almost three years IMHO has been very rough with Joe Biden in office. Right now the news has been about rising crime, a porous border (here in Chicago we're concerned about the migrants being bused from Texas and what to do with them when "Chiberia" weather hits), and then foreign affairs we got wars ongoing in Ukraine and in the Middle East conflict has again flared up between Israel and the Palestinians.
So in the next presidential election who might be best to usher in peace in Ukraine or even cool the tensions between Israel and the Palestinians? Who might be able to best ease the issues of inflation so that Americans will get more bang for their buck when it comes to buying food at least? And then someone needs to close that border and insure common sense measures to allow people to immigrate to America legally.
So anyway I asked all these questions and perhaps some if not all were address to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis who engaged with undecided Iowa voters in this recent segment from Iowa TV station KCCI. Gov. DeSantis who is lauded as a very strong state governor and was considered by many - inlcuding me but what do I know - as a future President. However, his rollout has been rough.
As of now the current front runner for the Presidency who could defeat President Joe Biden is former President Donald Trump whom himself was defeated by Biden in 2020. It would be interesting to see how 2024 will unfold.
Oh and the Democratic National Convention will be in Chicago for the first time since 1996!
