How Jane Addams changed the world

[VIDEO] Mr. Beat talks about one of the many people from Chicago history and someone we might have learned about at least in elementary school. I'm pretty sure in class at Bennett-Shedd at some point we learned about the accomplishments of Ms. Jane Addams who is a winner of the Nobel Peace Prize.

She cared so much about the poor that she worked to help them at Hull House. The original building is now on the campus of University of Illinois at Chicago that can be seen on Halsted Street. It's a monument to her work and her lifetime and even walked by it when I graduated from Harlan High School with very little appreciation for its signifance.

Either way probably utilizing a green screen you will see Mr. Beat standing in front of Hull House even if it's just a photograph during this 14 minute video discussing the life and works of Ms. Addams. Enjoy!
